My Books

Exista cativa autori pe care ii iubesc. Pur si simplu. Pentru ca scriu dupa sufletul meu. 🙂

1. Julian Barnes – everything by Julian Barnes… I own all his books. “How rarely do our emotions meet the object they seem to deserve? How hopelessly we signal; how dark the sky; how big the waves. We are all lost at sea, washed between hope and despair, hailing something that may never come to rescue us.”

2. Nick Hornby…Also owner of all his books. Even Fever Pitch, all about football. 😀 “Maybe we all live life at too high a pitch, those of us who absorb emotional things all day, and as mere consequence we can never feel merely content: we have to be unhappy, or ecstatically, head-over-heels happy, and those states are difficult to achieve within a stable, solid relationship.”  Nick Hornby (High Fidelity)

3. Terry Pratchett – always and forever I will adore this man and his books. The wittiest, funniest man.

“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.” (Diggers)

“I’ll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there’s evidence of any thinking going on inside it.”

“If you have enough book space, I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Just erotic. Nothing kinky. It’s the difference between using a feather and using a chicken.” (Eric)

“Fantasy is an exercise bicycle for the mind. It might not take you anywhere, but it tones up the muscles that can. Of course, I could be wrong.”

4. Jane Austen… and apparently I’m a sucker for English literature. 😛
